Internet Speed in the United States

Posted on | July 24, 2013 | Comments Off on Internet Speed in the United States

How do you think Internet speeds in the United States rate worldwide? Would you guess that USA has the fastest speed? Top 5? Top 10?

USA actually ranks 9th in Internet speed. In Akamai’s “State of the Internet” quarterly report, USA fell from 8th to 9th this quarter. Although the average US Internet speed has improved since this time last year, the country as a whole has fallen behind in the international scope.

According to a recent CNN article:

In some ways, the United States is at a disadvantage when it comes to fast connections. Its sprawling size and hefty population can make building efficient broadband networks a challenge. But critics argue that a relative lack of competition among service providers also hurts.

The states with the best Internet connections include Vermont, New Hampshire, Delaware, DC and Utah. Click here to read more about the United States’ Internet speeds, and be sure to contact K&R Network Solutions to keep your infrastructure running smoothly.
